The Rockland Astronomy Club hosts the largest and most exciting space, science, and astronomy show in the United States, the Northeast Astronomy Forum (Tm) featuring world-renowned speakers, workshops, solar observing, planetarium shows and America’s largest astronomy exhibitor floor. Rutgers Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering brought one of their teaching lab wind tunnels and a 2016 Senior Design Project to the exhibit.

Jubilee Prasad Rao, a PhD student in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department (MAE), finished second at LaunchR, a Rutgers student-run clean technology innovation contest and startup accelerator funded by the United States Department of Energy and PSEG. Rao was awarded $15,000 to start his own company based on turbine technology to capture tidal energy. He is the co-inventor with Prof. Diez of this patent pending technology.
